Youth Programs

 

Welcome Baby

Co-sponsored with Bellevue Kiwanis Club and The Bellevue Hospital, this program provides books to newborns and helpful information to their parents. The purpose is to establish the importance and benefits of reading to children from infancy.
 

Toddler Time

For ages 1 & 2 with an adult. Toddler Time features 20 minutes of stories, songs and rhymes. Registration is not required. Siblings are welcome.
 

Preschool Storytime

For ages 3 – 5 with an adult. Preschool Storytime offers a Spring Series (February - March with registration in January,) Summer series (June - July with registration in May), and a Fall series (October - November with registration in September). It features 40 minutes of stories, rhymes, music and crafts. Registration is required.
 

Discovery Time

For ages 3 – 5 with an adult. A parent guided learn and play group offered at the conclusion of each Preschool Storytime series.
 

Bingo and a Book

For ages 6 – 8. Offered one Thursday a month at 4:30 p.m. Features skill-building Bingo games with prizes, followed by a reading by the librarian. Registration not required.
 

Rappin’ Readers Book Club

For ages 9 – 12. Offered one Thursday a month at 4:30 p.m. Features pizza, soft drinks, and a discussion of the book of the month. Register in Youth Services and receive the title for the month.
 

Puppet shows, Craft Days and other Children's Programs

For these special events, refer to the library's monthly calendar for dates and times.
 

Teen Book Club

For ages 13 and up. Offered one Thursday a month at 4:00 p.m. Features an hour of friends, food, and discussion of the book chosen for the month. Register in Youth Services and receive the title for the month.
 

Summer Reading

Offered beginning the second week of June. It features incentives for all ages to continue reading throughout the summer. Special programs relating to the summer reading theme are also offered. Registration is required and accepted throughout the program.
